Hyaluronic acid (HA); also called hyaluronan or hyaluronate, is an anionic, nonsulfated glycosaminoglycan. It is one of the major components of the extracellular matrix. It contributes to cell proliferation and migration, and angiogenesis. It can be used to prepare hydrogels for in vitro or in vivo studies.
