- Description
Description
A protein kinase C activator with apoptotic effects
Zoledronic acid is potent farnesyl diphosphate (FPP) synthase inhibitor (IC50 = 20 nM) and one of the most potent nitrogen-containing bisphosphonates. It prevents the isoprenylation of small GTP-binding proteins such as Ras and Rho.
Zoledronate attenuates accumulation of DNA damage in stem cells and protects their function [1]. Suggested final concentration in culture medium is 1uM.
Zoledronate affecting conditions arising from stem-cell dysfunction makes it a promising medicine for a range of age-related diseases[2].
